A beautiful, partly sunny morning at Washington Park ended up being the perfect back drop for Diana & Robert’s bridal portraits. Diana’s dress was absolutely gorgeous with its flowing layers of silk organza and elaborately beaded bodice. The lighting that morning created an almost ethereal ambiance.

She and I have both recently decided to give our love of photography a front seat in our lives, so I was honored when she asked me to take her family’s picture earlier this year. While traditionally reserved for weddings and special occassions, I convinced my dear friend Pinder to get an elaborate henna tattoo (or Mehndi) on her pregnant belly before her baby shower. The tree seemed to be the perfect symbol to represent the growing life within her.

This time of year in Colorado it’s really a gamble when it comes to whether or not the weather is going to cooperate with a shoot. Thankfully, more often than not, the sun comes out and makes even a chilly day bearable. After warming up the camera in their family room, the Brown family and I braved a chilly, but sunny, January morning in the suburban forest.
